Be it in the jungles of the South Pacific, the deserts of North Africa, the hedgerows of Normandy, or autobahn of Germany, this was the standard issue load carrying pack worn by nearly every regular US Army soldier in WWII. This pack was comprehensively designed to carry the extra underwear, personal items, rations, blanket, shelter, and other items that every soldier needed while on the move. Our version of this important piece of field equipment is replicated faithfully to the actual military specs and dimensions. We use our quality robust canvas and American mil-spec cotton webbing in the authentic shade of OD#3 and resists fading from the sun. We include the authentic "U.S." markings on both the haversack and the pack carrier. Our hardware meets the military specs for performance. Now, we include a genuine cowhide leather pack carrier attachment strap and leather utensil scabbards for the mess kit pouch. All leather items should be treated with a good quality conditioner such as our Huberd's Shoe Grease.
