From the shores of war-torn Italy in WWII, to the bitter frost-biting snowpack during the Battle of the Bulge, to the frozen mountains of the Korean War, the M1943 Field Jacket was the most widely used outer wear jacket in the 1940s/50s era.  It was worn by US Army soldiers, US Marines, and US Airman from the mid period of WWII and thereafter. It would eventually be superseded by the M51 and M65 series field jackets.  The character Norman from the movie FURY was wearing our M1943 uniform.

The design of this garment underwent several pattern changes over the duration of WWII since it was first developed in early in the war.  Of these various versions we decided to duplicate the oversized "B" pattern M1943 field jacket which allowed for the use of a separate pile fur jacket liner (sold separately, available this winter).  Therefore, keep in mind that our jackets are oversized, approximately two sizes large.  Please review this sizing table:

We had our own beautiful windproof 100% cotton sateen fabric custom woven to the correct fabric spec with a luxurious sheen to the face.  You will note that the US army made these uniforms with the fabric's back (dull) side out and we follow the same specification.  After weaving, we finish our fabric in an authentic shade of Olive Drab military spec dye that was commonly representative of jackets from the WWII era.  We also apply a robust water repellency finish to this fabric (THAT IS NOT SILICONE OR TEFLON BASED).  Some contemporary DWR treatments leave the fabric feeling too soft for military uniforms and don't result in a heftiness to the garment as they should.  Buttons used are custom solid color cast in the authentic shade, size, and style.  Thread used is 100% cotton dyed to an authentic shade with some OD shaded polyester thread used in the interior construction for strength.  Our jackets even include authentic contractor pocket labeling.  The jacket includes an authentic waist drawing cord just like on the originals.  An inked sizing stamp is placed on the jacket lining just under the collar as was done on the "B" pattern jackets from WWII.  We are confident that our jackets are the most authentic jacket in pattern cut, fit, appearance, construction, and durability.  No one makes these quality jackets as authentically as we do!

We offer jackets made according to vintage dimensions for fit in regular sizes from 36 to 54.  We also offer long sizes only in 40 and 44.  If you are over 6'4" tall and have a very thin waist you should consider a long size for a better fit in the length.

OD Cotton Field Trousers (AKA M43 trousers) made from the same cotton windproof sateen fabric will be available soon in a standard model and with added "82nd/101st Airborne division" style canvas cargo pockets and tie straps affixed to the legs.
